Excel V+ is a professional-grade laser system designed to safely target blood vessels and pigmented lesions beneath the skin. The device delivers concentrated pulses of light that are absorbed by haemoglobin or melanin, gently treating the targeted area without damaging surrounding tissue. Treatments are performed by qualified practitioners in a controlled clinical environment.
Excel V+ is suitable for a wide range of cosmetic and medical skin concerns, including:
Thread veins (telangiectasia) and broken capillaries
Port-wine stains and birthmarks
Rosacea-related redness
Cherry angiomas and spider naevi
Diffuse facial redness and flushing
Sunspots, age spots and lentigines
Pigmented lesions that respond to selective photothermolysis
Each area is assessed in consultation to confirm suitability and plan the safest, most effective protocol.

HOW IT WORKS
PRE AND POST TREATMENT CARE

-
Preparing properly helps ensure safety and enhances treatment outcomes. Before your Excel V+ session, please follow these guidelines:
- Avoid sun exposure for at least 2–4 weeks prior. Tanned or sunburnt skin increases the risk of pigment changes.
- Use daily SPF 30+ and reapply when outdoors.
- Pause active skincare (retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, vitamin C, exfoliants) for 3–5 days before treatment unless otherwise advised.
- Avoid self-tan on the treatment area for 2 weeks.
- Do not book if you have an active infection, cold sore, dermatitis flare or compromised skin barrier in the area.
- Pause photosensitising medications or supplements only if advised by your prescriber.
- Inform your clinician of any recent cosmetic treatments (peels, laser, injectables, microneedling).
- Arrive with clean skin, free from makeup, moisturiser, fake tan or occlusive products.
Following these steps helps reduce the risk of complications and ensures more predictable treatment results.
-
Caring for your skin after Excel V+ is essential to support healing and ensure the best possible outcome. You may experience temporary redness, swelling or warmth in the treated area — this is normal and typically settles within a few hours to a few days.
For the first 24–48 hours:
- Apply cool compresses as needed to reduce warmth or swelling.
- Use gentle, non-active skincare only (a bland moisturiser is ideal).
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, hot showers, steam rooms and anything that increases heat in the skin.
- Avoid makeup on treated areas until the skin feels calm.
For the first week:
- Do not pick, scratch or exfoliate the area — allow any darkening, crusting or flaking pigment to shed naturally.
- Avoid active skincare ingredients such as retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, vitamin C, benzoyl peroxide or exfoliants.
- Avoid other cosmetic treatments in the area unless recommended by your clinician.
Sun protection:
- Strictly avoid sun exposure.
- Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily and reapply when outdoors.
- Wear a hat and protective clothing whenever possible.
When to contact the clinic:
If you experience unexpected blistering, significant discomfort, worsening swelling after 48 hours or any concerns, please reach out so we can review and guide you.
