- Steer clear of deodorant 24 hours before your visit. (Deodorants can clog pores, hindering sweat release and potentially reducing the treatment's efficacy)
- After receiving treatment, it's advisable to head straight home and avoid any physical activity to minimise sweat production. (Sweat around the treated areas might obstruct the treatment's effectiveness). A cool compress applied after the procedure may also help in reducing sweat accumulation.
- Cease taking any anti-inflammatory or blood-thinning medications 5-7 days before your appointment, unless advised otherwise by your doctor or specialist. This includes Aspirin, Vitamin E, Omega 3/Fish Oil Supplements, Ibuprofen, Advil, and other NSAIDs, which can heighten the risk of bruising, bleeding, and swelling post-injection.
- If you're feeling sick or have an active infection, please reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours beforehand.
- Limit vigorous exercise and significant alcohol consumption 24 hours before your treatment to lower the chance of bruising.

- Avoid applying pressure, touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated area for a minimum of 8 hours; ensure the arm region remains clean.
- Refrain from swimming for at least 24 hours following the procedure.
- For 24 hours after your treatment, avoid taking vitamin E, aspirin, or consuming alcohol.
- Wait until the next morning before applying any deodorant or antiperspirant if you've had underarm treatments.
- Do not shave your underarms for at least 24 hours after the procedure.
- Stay away from extreme heat or cold for the next 24 hours.
- Experiencing immediate redness or swelling is typical and usually eases within an hour.
- On rare occasions, some patients might notice mild bruising or sensitivity at the injection site, which should improve within the first week post-treatment.
- Avoid gym visits or engaging in strenuous activities for 48 hours following your procedure.
- If you encounter slight discomfort at the injection spots, consider taking a pain reliever to ease the soreness.
- Postpone the use of any blood-thinning medications, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and fish oils, for 48 hours after your treatment. Paracetamol is suggested if you're experiencing discomfort.
- Abstain from any underarm hair removal methods like laser treatment or electrolysis for at least two weeks following your procedure.
- Typically, a decrease in sweat production is noticeable within 2 to 4 days after treatment, with the complete effects visible after 2 to 3 weeks. The benefits of hyperhidrosis treatment generally persist for about six months.

For your appointment at Mel Hornery Cosmetics, please come with clean underarms, ensuring they're free from any products or antiperspirant. On the day of your appointment, it's important to skip vigorous exercise, alcohol consumption, and smoking. If you're feeling sick, kindly reschedule your visit. We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing to avoid any friction or irritation. Lastly, please wash the area with soap and water just before departing for your appointment to ensure cleanliness.
You are not eligible for treatment at Mel Hornery Cosmetics if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have open wounds in the treatment area, suffer from Myasthenia Gravis or Eaton-Lambert Syndrome, are hypersensitive to any component of the treatment formulation, have an infection, cold sores, sunburn, psoriasis, or eczema at the intended injection site, received a Tetanus vaccine in the past 6 weeks or plan to in the next 6 weeks, are currently experiencing a fever, or have untreated Epilepsy. Additionally, you may be ineligible if you are using blood-thinning supplements or undergoing anticoagulation therapy, have a severe metabolic or systemic condition, an active autoimmune disease, are currently taking aminoglycoside antibiotics (such as neomycin, gentamicin, tobramycin), or have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring. A comprehensive consultation on the day of your appointment will confirm your suitability for the procedure.
Most people experience a reduction in sweating within a week, though it can take up to two weeks for the full benefits to become apparent. Typically, the results last more than six months for the majority, with those undergoing the treatment for the first time seeing effects for at least four months. The duration of these results may increase with further treatments.
The process is clear-cut: the sweat-prone area is identified and marked, typically aligning with where hair grows or used to grow.
